Any alien may be admitted to become a citizen of the United States. But immigration is a thorny path and object to a long list of conditions. One is that he declares on oath to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty. What happens when the candidate messes up his text for the Oath of Allegiance? As he stumbles through the text the filmmaker collides with images of a crime scene, the star spangled banner, and sound bites of the eloquent president.

Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
